Virtual Social Groups

During the height of the pandemic, when the state mandated we shut down in person social groups, Mission Cognition had to make the difficult decision of ceasing all social support services, or pivoting and learning to provide services via video conferencing. We chose to pivot and are sure glad we did! With a lot of creativity and clinical skill stretching, MC instructors were able to closely simulate our on site programs by incorporating active & experiential learning opportunities, use of real materials, movement and game play. Through highly customized, individualized and interactive activities, MC instructors have been able to effectively support social skill development for participants all across the U.S.

What Parents Are Saying

It was AWESOME!!!!! Thank you so much for a fun session!

We like the virtual play group that can help kids maintain some form of social interaction.

Awesome at keeping the activities fun and engaging to keep the kids attention. My son loves the green light/red light activity. He got used to the new format after a couple of sessions and looks forward to it every Saturday. Really appreciate that you’re doing these sessions during a crazy time and making the best out it.

I absolutely LOVE that even in a lockdown state, this opportunity allows (name) to continue to stretch himself and get out of his comfort zone! I saw him really loosen up as well this week and spontaneously engage in the conversation. We are both so grateful and excited for the chance to work with you.

He got his kit and he is so excited!! He recognized your logo and was so happy!! I am so glad that he enjoys your group so much!!

I think you have adapted very well to a virtual social skills group atmosphere, it’s impressive

It was nice to hear him asking his peers questions and he told me later that group was really fun and he wants to keep doing it. Great work and thank you!

You all do a fabulous job of facilitating an enaging online learning experience!

My son is so engaged! I’m so surprised he sits for the full time.

I hear parts of the sessions from the other room so I don’t have super descriptive feedback BUT my child is typically resistant to anything new/not his idea. Today (3rd session) he willingly went to zoom without any complaints at all. Normally, he tries to get out of going to zoom then is happy once he is in there. Please try to keep a virtual option as we are out of state. Thanks!
